Tasting Notes:

Appearance: Burnished gold with a blush of pink, forms a thin line which beads before falling as slow, thick legs.

Nose: Light notes of honeysuckle, heather honey, vanilla cream, Scottish Tablet, raspberry coulis and a soft wisp of smoke.

Palate: Soft red fruits mingling with baked apple with caramel sauce, drizzled with honey and served with subtly smoked vanilla ice cream.

Finish: Long and lingering, raspberry sauce on a vanilla ice cream and a touch of black pepper gradually fade to leave a subtle, warming blanket of gentle smoke.

Overall: I must admit when I first read the description my immediate thought was whether three very different expressions could be successfully brought together, particularly with the peatiness of the Fumare. But succeed they certainly did, the result is a well balanced dram with the notes from the three constituent whiskies working in perfect harmony.

It’s light and fruity, with the softest layer of smoke adding to the palette of flavours. I really enjoyed this, and at a price under £60 it’s good value for money.
