Tasting notes
Appearance: Honey gold in colour, forms a thin line which falls slowly as thick, oily legs
Nose: Quite closed, a touch of oak shavings, straw and raw linseed oil. Otherwise lacking in any real character
Palate: Medium bodied, fruit sweets, caramel toffee pennies, Demerara sugar, brandy snap biscuits, subtle smoke and oak spice
Finish: Slightly drying. Soft brown sugar, runny honey and black pepper
Overall: It’s a pleasant, gentle sipper of a whisky. Light, easy and nothing to offend the palate, one of those drams which would be a good introduction for those keen to try whisky for the first time. Currently priced under £50 which isn’t bad value.
