From the bottlers

In a secret lair, hidden amidst the rolling hills of Scotland, a league of whisky artisans dons their capes (and aprons) to craft something truly extraordinary.

The WhiskyHeroes is a range of spectacular single-cask whiskies and exclusive small batches, matured only in classic bourbon and sherry casks. Each bottle is infused with a dash of mischief and a pinch of heroism.

These casks are the heroes of the whisky world, so the whiskies and the presentation of the range reflect this. Each bottle is designed to be bold. Each whisky is full of character and adventure, every release chosen for its ability to take the whisky fan on an adventure of flavors and history.

Every bottle of The WhiskyHeroes is an invitation to embark on a flavor-filled adventure. Whether you’re sipping by the fireplace or sharing tales with fellow whisky enthusiasts, these drams will transport you to realms unknown. And who knows? Maybe you’ll discover your newfound appreciation for whisky.

The WhiskyHeroes — the ultimate blend of character, courage, and cask-aged magic. Excelsior!

Peated Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

1st fill Oloroso Sherry Butt
Age: 8 years old
Bottles: 676 Bottles
Strength: 52.9%

Tasting Notes:

Appearance: Amber gold, forms a thin line which beads before falling as slow, thick legs

Nose: Orchard fruits, green grape skins, slightly herbal and just a hint of ashy smoke.

Palate: Full and mouthcoatingly oily, burnt barbecue pork ends, caramel toffees, dried fruits, nutty oak and a hit of chilli. With water the heat is reduced bringing out more of a Char Siu pork note together with orchard fruit and tropical fruit.

Finish: Bonfire embers, Green & Black’s 85% dark chocolate, slightly astringent oak nuttiness and chilli heat. With water, there is less heat and vanilla pod makes an appearance at the close together with that Char Siu pork note from the palate.

Overall: This really is a lovely Annandale bottling. A great mouthfeel, decent amounts of smoke and a very enjoyable meatiness to the dram. Well balanced and more than enough from the first fill Oloroso butt to keep the palate pleasantly occupied. For me this is one that really shines from the addition of a few drops of water, allowing the minor notes to come through at the expense of some of the heat.
