Nc’nean New Make Spirit - 63.3%
Located on the Drimnin Estate on the Morvern Peninsula looking across to Mull, Nc’Nean is an independent, organic distillery with a mission of pioneering sustainable production processes. Nc’nean is one of the new generation of Scottish distilleries, with the inaugural whisky being launched in 2020.
Distillery notes:
Smooth and elegant, our whisky is easy-going and delicious however you drink it, with flavours of citrus, peach, apricot and spice.
Our whisky is made from organic Scottish barley whose natural yields and rich soils contribute depth of flavour. Our gentle fermentation and distillation accentuate the delicate, fruity flavours in the spirit.
Our whisky makes a big impression with the smallest footprint. Every bottle is certified organic, made in our verified carbon neutral distillery and bottled in a 100% recycled glass bottle.

Tasting notes:
Appearance: Colourless, forms a thick line which falls as thick, oily legs.
Nose: Malt, Conference pears, lemon citrus
Palate: Pear, green apple, sweet malt, dark berries and a little ginger warmth.
Finish: Dark berries and a little ginger spice
Summary: I've always enjoyed trying a new make spirit, even though some of the character may eventually be swallowed up during the maturation process it gives a real indication of the 'house style' the distillery is aiming for.
In this case you can really feel that typical Nc'nean spirit character. The fruit notes may change along the way as they continue to experiment with different yeast types, but the light, clean nature of the spirit is so evident and very much at the heart of what they do.
