Tasting Notes

Appearance: Honey gold, forms a thin line which beads before slowly falling as thick, oily legs.

Nose: Raisin and hazelnut caramel toffee, damp earth, milk chocolate, dried fruit and baked Bramley apples with cinnamon.

Palate: Creamy mouthfeel, Dried fruits, sultanas, raisins and figs, Demerara sugar and cinnamon. With water it loses some of that creaminess and the fruit notes become less prominent.

Finish: Long and lingering, hazelnut caramel, mocha, mildly drying oak, cinnamon warmth and a hint of cooling menthol.

Summary: Beautifully refined and complex, sherry notes in abundance together with just a hint of spice to add an extra dimension. Despite the high abv, water is neither required or beneficial, this is one best served neat. One of the best examples of what can be done with Aultmore spirit that I’ve tried in a while. No longer available on the Spirits Embassy website but well worth looking for at auction.
