Dalmore 2005 Vintage - 43.8%

Dalmore Vintage 2005 - a memory of fresh orange blossom atop a body of sugared almonds, liquorice, candied fruit and air-dried peel. Complex, by comparison to The Principal Collection. Its character speaks to time maturing beside the Comarty Firth.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Honey gold, forms a thin line which quickly beads and falls as thin legs.

Nose: Citrus fruit, vanilla, caramel toffee, furniture polish, bruised cider apples.

Palate: Seville orange, stewed apple, dried fruit, dark chocolate enrobed ginger, coffee bean, vanilla and cinnamon.

Finish: Old library books, worn leather, roasted pineapple, cinnamon.

Summary: This is another really interesting Dalmore. Delicious orange, chocolate and coffee notes backed with a little mustiness that give the whisky a feel of both complexity and maturity. At a price of £150 it won’t be for everyone, but for anyone looking for something special this is well worth consideration.
